A Welcome Message from the President of EGSBI
Dear Colleagues,
The field of breast imaging started in Egypt as early as the 1980s. Though, the first unit dedicated to breast imaging was established in 2002 in the Cairo University Radiology Department. Ever since then, the interest in breast imaging subspecialty has exponentially spread throughout Egypt. We owe this to the pioneer Egyptian Breast Imaging Radiologists who are dedicated to teach and support new generations.
Our Vision as a non-profit organization is to create and maintain a rewarding and inspiring environment for Breast Imaging Radiologists. The EGSBI was established by a group of breast imaging radiologists from all across Egypt who have a strong belief in the importance of this subspeciality and its direct impact on the health of every Egyptian woman.
Our Mission is to fulfill the prerequisites of breast imaging radiologists to receive an up-to-date quality education that addresses the advances and worldwide guidelines in the field of breast imaging and intervention. The EGSBI will support young radiologists and promote channels for research and education for them.
Our Goal through society is to work hard to improve the services delivered for breast cancer patients in an environment that respects our culture and follows trusted guidelines. This will take place through patient advocacy groups, the spread of breast cancer awareness, and provide evidence-based breast health care.
The EGSBI will embrace all Egyptian radiologists who have an interest in breast imaging. Thus, I invite you all to be an active member of the EGSBI and be part of our community, share, learn, and contribute your knowledge and experience.
